Matt Gumm Live, billed at the theater as Matt Gumm & Company, is the Saturday morning comedy variety show at the Clay Cooper Theatre. Matt Gumm has been the featured comedian in Clay Cooper's Country Express for 19 years and a nine-time Comedian of the Year, and this is his own show, winner of Show of the Year in 2024 and Best Comedy Show of the Year in 2025. He does slapstick and physical comedy, characters, and a run of impressions, and he also sings and plays. The company is his family: parents Thom and Sandy Gumm, sister Jamie Gumm-Bainbridge, his kids Norah Sue and Nash, plus Travis Spratt, the Country Express Band, and the B-Town Horns. The music runs from classic country and today's country hits to 60s, 70s, and 80s rock, with a gospel tribute and a patriotic salute. From November 14 it becomes Matt Gumm & Company: An Ozark Mountain Christmas.

Matt Gumm Live is the show Clay Cooper Theatre regulars have been asking for. Matt has spent 19 years as the featured comedian in Clay Cooper's Country Express and has been named Comedian of the Year nine times, and Matt Gumm & Company gives him the whole stage. It won Show of the Year in 2024 and Best Comedy Show of the Year in 2025, and it plays Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM on the Branson strip.
The company is Matt's family. His parents Thom and Sandy Gumm, his sister Jamie Gumm-Bainbridge, and his kids Norah Sue and Nash are all on stage, joined by Travis Spratt, the Country Express Band, and the B-Town Horns. Among Branson shows, it is the rare comedy show with a full live band and a horn section behind the jokes.
Impressions, Slapstick, and a Live Band
Matt's comedy comes in every style: slapstick and physical bits, characters with costume changes, and a long run of impressions that has guests counting how many voices he can do. He is also a vocalist and an instrumentalist, and the show moves between the laughs and real musical numbers without slowing down. The music covers classic country and some of today's country hits, retro rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, a heartfelt gospel tribute, and a patriotic salute to veterans.

The 2026 run is Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM from September 19 through December 12, skipping October 31 and November 7. The Christmas edition adds a Monday show on November 16 at 10:00 AM and a 2:00 PM matinee on December 26. The calendar above lists every date on sale.
Plan on about two hours. Arriving 30 minutes early gives you time to park and get seated, and a 10:00 AM show leaves the whole afternoon and evening free for the rest of Branson. The Gumm family usually greets guests in the lobby afterward.
